Be clever, play clever, and pickup craps the right way!
Games that use dice and the dice themselves goes all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is just about 100 years old. Modern craps formed from the 12th Century English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody knows for sure the ancestry of the game, however Hazard is said to have been invented by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the twelfth century. It is supposed that Sir William’s soldiers played Hazard amid a blockade on the citadel Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the fortress’s name.
Early French settlers brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when exiled by the British, the French relocated south and discovered refuge in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they took their preferred game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns modernized the game and made it mathematically fair. It’s said that the Cajuns changed the title to craps, which is derived from the term for the losing toss of snake-eyes in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."
From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi riverboats and all over the country. A good many acknowledge the dice maker John H. Winn as the founder of current craps. In 1907, Winn created the modern craps layout. He created the Do not Pass line so players can bet on the dice to lose. Afterwords, he designed the spots for Place bets and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
