Be clever, play clever, and discover how to play craps the right way!
Dice and dice games goes back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is just about one hundred years old. Current craps formed from the old English game called Hazard. No one knows for sure the birth of the game, but Hazard is said to have been created by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, around the 12th century. It’s supposed that Sir William’s soldiers bet on Hazard during a siege on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the fortification’s name.
Early French settlers brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when exiled by the British, the French moved south and located safety in southern Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they brought their preferred game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it more mathematically fair. It’s believed that the Cajuns adjusted the title to craps, which is gotten from the term for the non-winning toss of two in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."
From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi riverboats and across the country. A great many think the dice builder John H. Winn as the founder of modern craps. In the early 1900s, Winn designed the current craps setup. He added the Do not Pass line so gamblers could bet on the dice to not win. At another time, he invented the boxes for Place wagers and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
