Be brilliant, play brilliant, and pickup craps the proper way!
Dice and dice games goes back to the Crusades, but current craps is only about one hundred years old. Current craps come about from the ancient English game called Hazard. Nobody knows for certain the birth of the game, although Hazard is believed to have been made up by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the twelfth century. It’s believed that Sir William’s paladins wagered on Hazard amid a blockade on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was derived from the citadel’s name.
Early French settlers brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when banished by the English, the French headed down south and settled in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they fled Acadia, they took their favored game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns broke down the game and made it mathematically fair. It’s believed that the Cajuns changed the title to craps, which is acquired from the name of the bad luck toss of two in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."
From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi scows and across the nation. A good many acknowledge the dice builder John H. Winn as the father of current craps. In 1907, Winn developed the current craps layout. He appended the Don’t Pass line so gamblers could bet on the dice to not win. At another time, he designed the spaces for Place bets and put in place the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
